Diamine oxidase is an enzyme involved in the metabolism, oxidation and inactivation of histamin and other polyamines. It has been suggested as a biomarker for evaluation of gastrointestinal tract toxicities during cancer treatment and gastrointestinal inflammation in inflammatory bowel disease.
